Get to know better … Carlos Cabello

Today we have the opportunity to interview the Malaga player Carlos Cabello , who will be sponsored this season by Poolmania and brand Mezz .

Does it come your love for billiards Since when?

From tiny; one of my brothers was playing and I was watching me. One day made a tournament where younger could participate … it is that I won !!! From that moment I fell in love with the sport.

What you most passionate about this sport?

What fascinates me most is the competition because it allows me to travel, meet people and wonderful places.

What are the ways you practice?

I love 8-ball, but at this point that attracts me is 10-Ball.

What brand taco you usually play? Would you would you change to another?

Mezz game and would like to finish my career playing with them. They are the tacos that have surprised me, and Mezz family is extraordinary.

How often do you play every week? Do you think it is enough to improve your game?

I practice an average of 3 hours a day, but I think the most important thing is to improve the competition.

What club you play normally? Do you think it is well conditioned for playing pool?

Currently playing in the Q-Ball Kaffe in Malaga but I have very good relationship with all billiard clubs Malaga. They are well equipped to have a good time playing and I feel comfortable in any of them.

What do you think they should do billiard clubs to attract more players?

We are going through a very bad economic situation right now in Spain. That affects the practice of any sport or hobby, so I’m not sure there is a recipe for people to come more often to local pool.

What has been your best game or tournament?

Uff! They have recorded many in my memory but I think the most special was the 1st time I played in Las Vegas.

Have you always had confidence in your game or, on the contrary, we have entered moments of doubt?

I’ve always been a player who relies heavily on his game and possibilities but there is always a moment of doubt. Especially in certain tournaments depending on your ambitions.

What has been your best participation in a tournament / championship outside of Spain?

Not so much the better participation but as with whom you can share. In 2010 in Las Vegas, I doublet winning 8 Ball and 9 Ball Intermediate, besides being runners-up team with great Spanish players … was really fun.

What is the player that you look to try to improve your game?

Now I look much Darren Appleton, is doing a fantastic job and very hard but my idol is Francisco Bustamante … it is the personal talent.

In Spain we also have great players like David Alcaide, Francisco Diaz, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Hector del Amo, Juan Carlos Exposito and others who for reasons of many classes do not compete right now.

Tell us a story that has happened playing pool

Playing pool I have spent incredible things but not know where to start. I reserve the answer if you ever write a book, lol.

How do you see the health of the sport in Spain today?

Quite critical, hopefully we can overcome this situation.

Why do you think has lowered the participation of players in national tournaments?

Billiards, at least Pool section, I was treated more as a business than as a sport and now people do not trust anything and anyone. It is no longer involved because they have always been many promises and few facts.

Where do you think you can be the solution?

There must be a radical change for this to be resolved.

Why do you think that in Spain the pool is not a very attractive sport for the media?

In Spain there is no previous billiards culture. It is still associated with nocturnal our sport, alcohol and drugs when it is not.

What would you say to young people so that he was encouraged to practice?

Besides fun is a good way to travel and see the world.

Is there anything you’d like to add?

If I encourage players to reach consensus on possible solutions for this practice to continue. And I appreciate today’s businesses to continue organizing events and promoting sport, Thank you all.

Thanks to Carlos for your time for this interview ?
