He was very young, I was about 5 years old when I started throwing balls on a billiard was in a cafe that was my father. He had to walk pushing a box of soda to get to the table. Shortly after the Club opened Billiards Fuengirola, and that was when I began to take it more seriously.

What you most passionate about this sport?

I always say it’s a sport where head count 80% (concentration) and 20% arm (precision) and you need both to reach 100% and thus achieve the maximum. If you know how to control your mind, your arm Metera balls. To me that is the parent of this sport and one of the things that makes it nice.

What are the ways you practice?

Within the pool game 8 ball and 9 ball, but mostly ball 10 game, I think it’s more dynamic and I like to train more. I also really like the snooker, every time I dedicate more ratitos.

How often do you play every week? Do you think it is enough to improve your game?

The truth is I train less than what I would / should there weeks I play 6-8 hours and some weeks I play some more. Clearly, the more the more confidence you have to train yourself and it shows I impacted the game.

I play at Cafe 10, a swim up bar in Fuengirola (where I live) having a Valley of 7 feet and 9 feet Dynamic II, both with good cloths and ball games Aramith Pro-Cup TV.

What do you think they should do billiard clubs to attract more players?

I think it is important to take into account two factors, firstly you have to capture and enter into the world of snooker new people, make hooking them to the sport as we hooked us many years to amateur tournaments, internal leagues, qualifiers for major tournaments etc. On the other hand, clubs should know maintain and pamper players higher categories, leaving the tables to train at good prices, contributing to the costs of the championships … finally after all are the examples that will follow players beginners and those who will publicize local wherever they go.

What has been your best game or tournament?

I remember fondly the finals of Spain of RFEB by teams Torrequebrada Casino Hotel. My team of Sami Kadour, Guillermo Fernandez, Eduardo Guillen and a server faced against David Alcaide, Dani Gaspar and Luis Soria … ..casi anything …. Clashes were: Sami – D. Alcaide (win David), Guillermo – D. Gaspar (won Guille) and Luis Soria against me for the final tiebreaker, I left a very good set and we proclaim champions.

Have you always had confidence in your game or, on the contrary, we have entered moments of doubt?

As I said before, I started playing very young so at 18 years or so I decided to stop playing and give me a break, partly because studies and partly for other reasons that do not include. When I realized they had spent more than 6 years and suddenly felt again that bug you create dependence sport. Then again I was taking level of competition and for now still just as excited as the first day.

Have you had the opportunity to compete outside Spain?

In my first stage play when I was younger I got the place to play the world championship in Vegas, but not having the age of 16 would not let me go and I kept the thorn stuck. Luckily last year I could classify me and I was finally able to travel to Las Vegas to play. The tournament went very well, I got into the final frame of the intermediate tournament with such bad luck that I had to face my great friend Carlos Belmonte to move to quarters and took the set. I also played some professional circuit test Riley English.

What is the player that you look to try to improve your game?

There is no player in particular. I like noticing every one of the opponents to play both tournaments and training and all you can get positive things to grow as a player.

Tell us a story that has happened playing pool

I remember we went to play a championship to Barcelona that was leaderboard if I remember correctly for a world championship was going to do in Spain. When we got to the tournament look quadrants, schedules and far so good. Soon the organization called us to control table David López “Pumita” and me to tell us that we could not participate in the championship for our age because neither we reached 16 years as the minimum age they were. After much protest, they did not let us play the tournament but agreed to pay us 50 000 pesetas each. Imagine that weekend we fight the Pumita and Barcelona with 50 thousand pesetas in your pocket each.

How do you see the health of the sport in Spain today?

Unfortunately very bad, I think with the change of president RFEB the Pool will lose a lot. To this we must add that more and more different associations with their own circuits and championships that what they do is divide the players, instead of fighting all for a common good.

Why do you think has lowered the participation of players in national tournaments?

I think the main factor is economic. Not cheap to go play a tournament, pay registration, travel, per diem, hotels … and to cover expenses have to be first or second.

Where do you think you can be the solution?

Everyone, from managers to players, to clubs and federations fight for a common goal.

Why do you think that in Spain the pool is not a very attractive sport for the media?

For starters, most people do not have even for a sport, it’s just a game where you have to put balls while sipping a beer. If the media were given a chance, we could prove that it is an attractive sport to watch on TV. But as much money moves like football or tennis can not fight them.

What would you say to young people so that he was encouraged to practice?

Everywhere there is a fairly large room with a pool table, try it, try to play with someone of level that can give you the main guidelines and above all fun.

Is there anything you’d like to add ..

Just thank the Poolmania team, you are doing a great job.

Adrian thank you very much for giving us the interview, and good luck for the next tournaments ?
